Emap earmarks 40 jobs for the axe
LONDON - Emap, the publisher of titles such as Health Service Journal and Drapers, has become the latest publisher to axe a raft of jobs in an attempt to reduce its cost base.
The business-to-business media company has earmarked around 40 jobs cuts, including a number of sales positions, across its magazine division, Emap Inform.
Emap Inform, which publishes 21 magazines, employs about 400 staff - half of whom are editorial.

Staff were told of the move today and are currently in a period of consultation.
Emap chief executive David Gilbertson told Media Week that "around half the jobs cuts would come across editorial", with others coming from commercial and support staff departments.
It is understood the publisher is hoping to mitigate the cuts by redeploying some of the affected staff within the group.
Emap's other operating divisions, which includes conferences and data, are unaffected by the cuts.
