LONDON - Guardian Media Group-owned MEN Media, publisher of the Manchester Evening News, is to bring its digital sales in house.

MEN Media is training its entire sales team so it can offer better service across its online portfolio, including Thejobsmine.co.uk, Thehomesmine.co.uk, Manchestereveningnews.co.uk and Citylife.co.uk.

MEN Media's digital sales used to be handled by Adlink, which sold MEN's digital products as part of a wider network. MEN hopes selling its digital products in-house will raise the publisher's profile with agencies and clients..

Danny Dale, provincial agency manager, said the digital sales structure is already well established under digital account managers David Hendry and Andy Robins.

Dale said moving digital sales in-house will allow the MEN sales team to develop its digital presentations and be more creative in the packages it offers.

In late September, Guardian Media Group appointed chief financial officer of GMG Regional Media, David Sharrock, to the role of chief operating officer.

Ruth Spratt, digital and broadcast director of GMG Regional Media, will be its new managing director when Mark Rix leaves GMG to become chief executive of Catchpole Communications in January.
