WWE launches social network site
NEW YORK - World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has launched WWE Universe, a social networking site, following the launch of its online video player last month.
The WWE Universe will allow users to connect with other fans and also with their favourite WWE wrestlers, who have their own official profiles. Fans can also post their own blogs and comment in forums.

A live blog service will also feature interactive commentary during WWE programming and pay-per-view broadcasts.
The website has over 200,000 members to date, with over 12,000 groups.
Brian Kalinowski, general manager of digital media at WWE, said: "WWE Universe is the first social networking site specifically designed and developed for the WWE online community. We are very excited to provide an online destination that WWE fans can call home."
In October, WWE launched its high-definition online video player to accompany its online advertising-supported channel, which garners over 25m video streams each month, with over 1,500 web-exclusive videos.
