LONDON - Condé Nast has appointed the publishing director of Conde Nast Brides, Simon Leadsford, as the new publishing director of Condé Nast Traveller.

Leadsford will replace Kate Slesinger when she departs the magazine in February.

Leadsford previously worked as associate publisher of Condé Nast’s House & Garden.

Before that, he worked at NatMags, where he was ad director on Harper’s and Queen and worked on the launch of Esquire, as well as working on Bauer’s FHM.

Slesigner, who has been publishing director of Condé Nast Traveller since 2004, is leaving for personal reasons after 14 years with the company. She previously worked as account manager and associate publisher for Vogue.

Condé Nast Traveller has a current circulation of 85,262 in the period January to June 2008.

The group says it will make an announcement on the new publisher of Condé Nast Brides in due course.
