Kilroy's departure from I'm a Celeb pulls in 8.7m viewers
LONDON - 'I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!' drew 8.7m viewers to ITV1 last night, according to unofficial figures, as politician and former TV presenter Robert Kilroy Silk became the first contestant to be booted off the show.
Kilroy Silk's eviction from the jungle after receiving the lowest number of votes from viewers attracted a 35.7% share of the 8.30pm to 10pm audience on ITV1.
During his 12 days in the jungle the independent MEP for the East Midlands won 22 meal stars for his camp by enduring trials involving being covered in cockroaches, spiders, snakes and rats.
The second episode of Channel 4's English Civil War drama 'The Devil's Whore', starring Andrea Riseborough and John Simm, dropped 700,000 viewers from its debut last week with 2m viewers tuning in, an 8.5% share of the 9-10pm audience. An extra 130,000 viewers watched it on Channel 4+1.
'The Devil's Whore' was beaten by a repeat of BBC One drama 'New Tricks', starring Amanda Redman and Dennis Waterman, which pulled in 3.7m viewers and a 15.4% share of the 9- 10pm audience.
BBC Two's US drama 'Heroes' netted 1.7m viewers and a 6.7% share of the 9pm to 9.45pm audience.
The third part of Five's 'Dangerous Adventures for Boys' series, in which famous dads go on adventures with their sons, attracted 621,000 viewers and a 2.5% share of the 9-10pm audience.
This week's instalment saw actor Bradley Walsh and his ten-year-old son, Barney, learning what it was like to serve in the SAS during World War Two.
