The Centaur Media-owned title will advertise the role internally and externally. An appointment is expected to be made by the New Year.
Centaur Media declined to comment.
Last month, Centaur reported a double-digit plunge in group revenue for the four months to the end of October.
The publisher, which also owns titles such as New Media Age and The Lawyer, blamed "challenging" trading conditions for a significant dip in advertising revenue over the period. Its legal and financial sectors were the hardest hit.
