LONDON - Orange has launched an online film club for fans to chat about their favourite flicks, access the latest trailers and enter exclusive competitions.

The Orange Film Club is available to Facebook and Bebo users.

Users who sign up to become "friends" of the club get access to free preview screenings of the latest movies, such as 'Sex Drive', the new teen film starring Josh Zuckerman and Seth Green.

"Friends" also receive regular updates and access to the 'Orange Wednesdays Movie Show' -- a weekly programme featuring movie news and previews.

The film club launch is accompanied by a new Facebook application that makes it easy for people to take advantage of Orange's two-for-one cinema ticket promotion -- Orange Wednesdays.

Once downloaded, the application shows users which of their friends are also using the promotion, making it easier for them to get a group together.

To send an invitation, users enter the name of a friend and select a film, location and screening time -- the invitations are sent automatically.

Spencer McHugh, head of brand communications at Orange, said: "From our cult cinema adverts to sponsorship of the prestigious BAFTA film awards, Orange has a longstanding association with film.

"The new film club communities give movie fans on Facebook and Bebo a place to come together and chat about the things they love most.  And, with the new Facebook application, we've made it even easier for people to benefit from Orange Wednesdays."
