LONDON - Condé Nast has appointed Camilla Newman as publisher of Brides magazine.

She replaces Simon Leadsford, who joins Condé Nast Traveller magazine as publishing director in February.

Currently advertisement director/acting associate publisher of Brides, Newman joined Condé Nast's classified advertising team straight from University in 1996, where she worked on Vogue.

After a move to the House & Garden promotions team, she then joined Brides where she has remained for the last 10 years, working her way up from the position of fashion sales executive.

Nicholas Coleridge, managing director of Condé Nast Publications, said: "Camilla has demonstrated tremendous talent and perseverance during her time at Brides, as well as displaying wonderful loyalty to the magazine."

The magazine posted an ABC of 68,259 copies during the first half of 2008.
