Following complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority about the atheist bus campaign, which uses the strapline "There's probably no god. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life", Brand Republic took to the streets to find out whether the public think anyone should be allowed to advertise their message.

The majority of people interviewed thought that there was nothing wrong with the campaign stating that everyone has a right to free speech.

A few people disagreed saying that the message did not need to be plastered on bus sides and that people should not try to push their views on others.

The campaign was launched following an appeal by a Guardian newspaper blogger, Ariane Sherine, who challenged readers to raise enough funds to run an ad telling people "There's probably no god" on a single central London bus route.

Enough money was eventually collected to cover 800 buses across the UK and the tube network.

The campaign is supported by the British Humanist Association and the scientist and author Richard Dawkins who wrote 'The God Delusion'.
