Arbitron appoints successor to chief executive Steve Morris
NEW YORK - Arbitron has appointed Michael Skarzynski to succeed long-term chief executive Steve Morris, who will retain his role as chairman.
Skarzynski, whose most recent role was CEO of performance management software company Iptivia, joins with immediate effect as president and chief executive.

Morris, who was chief executive for 16 years, called Skarzynski "a visionary leader who can translate the needs of customers and the marketplace into innovative products and services".
Skarzynski's CV includes experience in sales, marketing, business development and general manager at telecommunications companies Lucent and AT&T Network Systems.
Phil Guarascio, Arbitron director and chairman of its corporate governance committee, said: "After a thorough search process, we believe we have selected that best matches the requirements for leading the company during these challenging economic times."
Arbitron is focused on media audience research and analysis and has developed the Portable People Meter, which identifies what media outlet a person is listening to.
