Eyes get workout in Vision Express TV spot

by Staff, Campaign 21-Jan-09, 06:05

LONDON - A pair of eyeballs gets a major workout at the gym in Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy's new TV ad for Vision Express.

The ad features two men with giant eyeballs for heads wearing shorts and sweatbands. They start exercising and are timed and monitored by two muscle-bound, eyeball-headed trainers.

The workout, which shows the eyeballs using a running machine, skipping and lifting a giant dumb-bell together, ends with the trainers pulling down a giant pair of glasses that frame the pair of eyeballs.

The campaign aims to highlight the health credentials of Vision Express.

When I read the description, I was ready to hate it. But it made me giggle. And I wasn't bored half-way through like Vision Express' previous campaign. Nice one.

Gavin and Danny are a sort of hybrid of David Abbott and David Ogilvy for the late 2000s. First P&O Cruises tactical ads, then that Kingsmill ad with the boy on the bike on it, now this... Literally speechless. They'll clean up at Cannes. Or at least need a new shelf in their office. The best ad I've seen since Nike Parklife.

Kate. That is a music video, are you being sarcastic? And it was HOVIS not KINGSMILL. They're great chaps too, very funny.

The bald geordie one is a great chap. The posh one from Cheshire I'm not sure about.

Apparently the two creative's on this job starred in the ad, they are the two muscle clad hunky eyes, so watch out what you say!
