Free banner space sought for Comic Relief ads

LONDON - The organisers of Comic Relief are looking for online media companies to donate banner space to the charity in a bid to recruit members of the public to take part in this year's event.

IKontakt, the online PR agency, is voluntarily working to sign up digital media owners who are willing donate banner inventory up to and including next Firday, March 13.

The space will be used to run Red Nose Day banners and attract fundraisers in the hope Comic Relief can beat last year's target.

In 2007 the charity raised £67m for projects in Africa and the UK to tackle extreme poverty. However much of the fundraising relied on the generosity of businesses to help cover costs, which included the donation of online inventory and editorial space to whip up public support.
