Michael Jackson takes over ad break on ITV

Ian Darby, Campaign 06-Mar-09, 10:40

LONDON - ITV is running an epic ad to support sales of Michael Jackson's shows at the O2 Arena.

The three and a half minute spot will take over an entire ad break during ITV1’s Dancing On Ice this Sunday evening.

It will showcase Jackson’s most famous songs, and Jackson is claiming to be the first music artist to take over an entire ad break.

The ad will air at 9.30pm on Sunday to promote ticket sales for Jackson’s summer stint at the O2, which begins on 8 July.

It's interesting how Michael Jackson even though as famous as he is can still take over an entire ad break. He is really pushing it with advertising his shows in the 02 Arena. Already he is saying that this will be his last shows in the UK. Now tickets are expecting to sell at thousands of pounds. Clever advertising if you ask me. Somehow I think Michael will be back in the UK again soon. Sometimes its good to see an old talent still alive just as much as it is good to see a new talent arrive like Creative Orchestra. http://www.creativeorchestra.com

He's an evil man. He is mad. He should be in prison. He is unfit to parent. Why would anybody want to pay money to see him? Gary Glitter had a few hits 30 years ago, but it would be taboo to go and watch him. Despite Off The Wall having some good songs on it, I can't think of any artist I'd least rather pay money to watch. Except possibly Keane.

What concerns me is - when Michael Jackson dies, will he be recycled? Or will the council CLAIM to recycle him, but really just chuck him in landfill? Or should we give him a second life and make him into coasters?
