LONDON - Computer games firm Ubisoft has appointed Murray Pannell as its new UK marketing director, giving him responsibility for PR, brand and digital marketing across the company.

Pannell joins Ubisoft on 27 April from Microsoft, where he has spent six years.

Ubisoft is behind high profile games including 'Tom Clancy's Endwar', 'Far Cry 2' and the 'Prince of Persia' franchise.

Pannell replaces Jon Rosenblatt, who is returning after three-and-a-half years to his former employer Electronic Arts as European marketing director for its sports games.

At Microsoft, Pannell oversaw software and hardware gaming launches on the Xbox platform. Before that, he spent two years at Electronic Arts as European marketing manager.

Pannell will report to Rob Cooper, Ubisoft's UK managing director.

Cooper said: "I'm delighted to welcome Murray to the UK team as our marketing director. He has a wealth of marketing experience and is a popular and well respected industry figure.

"With an amazing range of both franchised titles and brand new games planned for the coming months, we're expecting another successful year and I know Murray has all the experience and drive to bring these products to market in a major way."

Ubisoft produces, publishes and distributes games across the globe. It has teams in 28 countries and distributes them in 55.
