Film4 in Waterstone's tie-up to promote adaptation season

LONDON - Film4 has signed a partnership deal with book retailer Waterstone's to promote a season of films based on book adaptations.

 

The Great Adaptations season will start on 10 April and includes films such as L.A. Confidential, The Devil Wears Prada, Trainspotting, And When Did You Last See Your Father?, Brick Lane and The Motorcycle Diaries.

The books will also be promoted across Waterstone's stores prompting customers to watch the films on the Film4 channel.

A panel discussion will be held at Waterstone's flagship store in Piccadilly on 1 April to discuss the adaptation of book to film. 

Members of the panel will include Simon Beaufoy, who recently won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Slumdog Millionaire, director of Brick Lane Sarah Gavron, Katherine Butler the head of development at Film4 and author Julie Myerson, whose book The Story of You is being developed into a film by Film4.
