LONDON - Absolute Radio has signed a deal with Planet Rock to sell its airtime and online advertising from April.

Absolute will sell its own ad space along side the Planet Rock digital station. It aims to offer advertisers a ‘streamlined' media buy.

Planet Rock was voted the Sony Digital station of last year. It has a weekly listenership of 680,000. It will establish its own sponsorship and promotions team.

Absolute Radio was re-branded from Virgin last year. Its network of stations includes Absolute Classic Rock and Absolute Xtreme.

According to RAJAR figures the Absolute network coupled with Planet Rock will reach 2.65 million weekly listeners. Absolute radio posted a drop of 14.4% in its January RAJARs.
