Debenhams pares shortlist to BBH and JWT

LONDON - Debenhams has shortlisted Bartle Bogle Hegarty and JWT to go head-to-head for its £15m advertising account.

The retailer has dropped M&C Saatchi from the process.

Last month Karmarama and Publicis were removed from the running. The account went up for pitch in January following Mile Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy's decision to resign the account in order to pitch for the £20m John Lewis business, which was eventually handed to Adam & Eve.

It's not really a £15 million account though is it? It's a few tactical press ads, some sale stuff and some local media guff. If it was £15m would the old agency have resigned it? Just shows what desperate times we live in...
