LONDON - Selfridges is lining up a series of performances at its Oxford Street store to celebrate its centenary.

The retailer has hired The Whoopee Agency to deliver a roster of 'cutting edge', glamorous variety artists every Sunday afternoon in its flagship store over April and May.

Central to the anniversary celebrations is a modern day tribute to Gordon Selfridge, inventor of the phrase: ‘The customer is always right'. Actor Tim Dodd is to re-enact Selfridge in store and around London at social key events.

Selfridges first opened its doors on Sunday 15 March 1909.
