Ashes to Ashes holds Monday night lead over ITV1

LONDON - BBC One's 'Ashes to Ashes' attracted 5.4m viewers last night, beating ITV1's 'Cops With Cameras' by 1.7m, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The fourth of the eight-part series about a modern-day policewoman stuck in the 1980s with chauvinistic DCI Gene Hunt earned BBC One a 23.9% share of viewing in the 9pm-10pm slot.

'Cops With Cameras'' realistic take on policing, including a stakeout by Kent police in a busy car park, brought 16.4% of the audience to ITV1 as 3.7m tuned in.

Channel 4 introduced new three-part programme 'Find Me A Family', which follows a new project encouraging people who want to adopt a child to pick those who are often overlooked, such as children with disabilities or behavioural problems.

'Find Me A Family' will be shown tonight and tomorrow; it started with 1.4m viewers and a 6.1% share on Channel 4. It was watched by 138,000 on Channel 4+1.

BBC Two waved goodbye to its 25-part US import 'Heroes', which concluded with the last two episodes at 9pm -- managing 1.3m viewers and a 5.7% share -- and 9.45pm-10.30pm -- bowing out with 1.5m viewers and a 7.3% share.

Five offered Jennifer Lopez movie 'Angel Eyes' at 9pm-10.55pm, bringing in an audience of 839,000 and a 4.3% share of viewing.
