Amazon to pay bloggers for Kindle subscriptions
LONDON - Amazon is enticing bloggers to register their feeds to its Kindle Store in exchange for a cut of the profits for every subscription it nets.
Amazon: paying bloggers Kindle subscription fees
Amazon's Kindle e-book reader allows users to read a select number of blogs through the device by signing up for feeds through the online Kindle Store, typically charging about $2 each.
Yesterday Amazon announced it is expanding the service to include more blogs, rather, any blog that chooses to sign up with the service, and will split the subscription fee with bloggers, keeping 70% and paying out the remaining 30%.
There are no upfront costs for bloggers, they simply have to inform Amazon where to send the cheque.
Amazon said it decides how much to charge per subscription, deemed on what is "a fair value for consumers".
