LONDON - Hodder & Stoughton is promoting the new David Nicholls novel 'One Day' with a series of viral videos and downloadable podcasts which form a "web story".

Rolling out today, the web story will be split into seven instalments, with four short films and three podcasts, each evolving the plot of the novel.

The first film is now live on the website www.oneday-twopeople.com, with the following films due to go online Friday, Monday and Tuesday.

Three 20-minute podcasts will be released Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week.

Nicholls, best known for his novel 'Starter for Ten' is also an established screenwriter and worked in collaboration with HYPtv to create the short films.

Hodder & Stoughton is promoting the film series and website with a print campaign this week in the London Lite, the Guardian and Times.

The first instalment has also been seeded on the Independent website alongside Nicholl's blog.

A homepage takeover for the Time Out website is scheduled for Monday.

The company is also planning to create buzz about the website and publication on the novel via Twitter and Facebook.

Digital agency TAMBA has produced the website backing the launch and will be working on social networking pages to further build interest in the book.

'One Day' is published on June 11.
