Confused.com to launch ad agency review

Price comparison site Confused.com has been approaching agencies with a view to reviewing its £25m advertising account.

Last November, Farm picked up the business without a pitch and was Confused.com's first retained ad agency.

It is understood that Confused.com has recruited Agency Assessments to approach agencies on its behalf.

In March, Confused.com appointed PHD to its £38m media planning and buying account.

Tom Bennett, Confused.com's marketing director, said the company was not reviewing its ad agency ‘at the moment', but added ‘we review our supplier relationships from time to time'.

The business recently appointed the Search Works to its paid search account but is currently looking for a new PR agency.

Confused.com has maintained a constant advertiser presence on TV but has struggled to differentiate itself from rivals.

Bennett said rival Comparethemarket's Meerkat campaign has been the ‘talking point of the year but that it has been hard to see what the competition has meant in hard cash yet'.
