Blog network Shiny Media goes into administration
LONDON - The UK blog network Shiny Media has gone into administration and its network of five UK sites no longer posting fresh content.
A report on Techcrunch and another on the Blog Herald, by Andy Merrett who is a former Shiny Media staffer, said that following cutbacks and job losses earlier this year the site has gone into administration.

Last year Shiny Media puts its network of football websites, Who Ate All The Pies, up for sale to focus on its more commercially successful lifestyle, fashion and technology brands such as Shiny Shiny, Tech Digest, HDTV UK, Idiot Toys, iPhonic and WiiWii.
The move into administration has not been officially confirmed, but co-founder and former staffer Katie Lee, who left in February but still freelances for Shiny Media, tweeted: "Looks like everyone knows Shiny Media has gone into administration. Still not entirely sure what's going on tbh. Sorry for all writers."
This tweet was followed by Lee's next: "As far as I know, Shiny Media has already been bought [before I even knew it had gone into administration]. So hopefully some jobs OK."
The @ShinyShiny Twitter feed posted this: "ahem. Shiny Shiny is *sob* on hold, while parent company shiny media sorts itself out. Sorry darlings! hope to be back soon.x"

Twitter is full of chatter concerning Shiny Media with others offering staff potential job leads: @Andydigital posted: "Shiny Media Staff - looking for a job, please contact me ASAP! #shinymedia
Shiny Media was the most significant UK blogging network to attempt to replicate the success of US blogs like Gawker.
Last year another British blog publisher, Messy Media, closed down its two blogs -- political site Westmonster and London lifestyle title Glitterditch.
