The pilot will initially deliver over 300 hours of free-to-view UK shows such as Peep Show, Shameless, Hustle and The League of Gentlemen, as well as classic shows such as The Young Ones.

This will be the first opportunity for people in the UK to watch long form VOD content on MSN, launching with BBC Worldwide and ALL3MEDIA International. The service will be supported with pre-roll advertising.

MSN currently offers short video across a range of genres including news, movies, music, TV and sport. It also often hosts exclusive content including live performances by popular music artists and movie trailers.

MSN said it aims to build on a growing trend of consumers migrating from viewing traditional TV and demanding more relevant and personal programming on demand, which online media channels are able to provide.  According to comScore (April 2009), 23% of consumers in the UK watch video online.
