The gambling company has employed the former Liverpool goalkeeper to promote an offer that refunds losing bets if there is a goal in the last five minutes.

Paddy Power is airing the campaign ahead of the new football season which kicks off on 15 August. Grobbellaar will feature in a series of ads for Paddy Power which is hoping to beat rivals in securing customers ahead of the new season.

The first in the series of ads features Grobbellaar emerging from a fridge with a wad of cash. He then tells a startled punter that he is refunding money he lost on the football match the previous night because there was a goal in the last five minutes.

Paddy Power employed The 7th Chamber to seed the campaign online ahead of its TV debut. It has also distributed its latest ad through its YouTube channel, where the video has racked up nearly 60,000 views.
