Government plots elimination of Bogofs to maintain food security
LONDON - The government is targeting Bogofs and heavily reduced loss-leader lines as part of its strategy to maintain Britain's food supplies for the next 40 years.

A report published yesterday is highly critical of these offers that the government, in its food security strategy, said encouraged shoppers to buy foods that they do not need and eventually end up in the bin.
As well as targeting ‘wasteful’ supermarket offers, the report, called Food 2030, also promises further action on reducing ‘tempting’ packaging and encouraging restaurants to highlight calories counts.
