Easyjet's top communicator Toby Nicol leaves without job to go to
Easyjet's longstanding director of communications has left the budget airline without a job to go to.
Toby Nicol joined easyjet ten years ago as PR manager (PRWeek, 03 December 1999). He nearly left the no-frills carrier for BAA in 2004 but made a dramatic u-turn after easyjet offered him a beefed up top comms role (PRWeek, 05 March 2004).

Easyjet head of corporate affairs Oliver Aust will take over Nicol's responsibilities until a replacement is found.
‘Easyjet is a fantastic company and aviation is an exciting sector,' said Nicol. ‘I was fortunate to reach board director at 35. But I have been considering my next step now for a while and I feel that it is time to move on. I don't want to be typecast as the ‘easyjet guy'.'
Nicol said he was looking for job opportunities with challenging brands in the FMCG sector.
