LONDON - A creative move from BBH to Euro RSCG, a new face at AOL Europe and the departure of the PPA's chief operating officer make the headlines as Brand Republic rounds up the week's people moves in advertising, digital, marketing and media.
Mark Modesto, the president of DraftFCB in Chicago, is to fill the newly created role of North American president of the network. He will work with DraftFCB's management teams in New York, Chicago, the West Coast and Canada and to build closer ties between them. Modesto will report to Laurence Boschetto, the DraftFCB chief executive and president. (Campaign)
AOL has appointed Christian Peck as vice-president of European advertising products and operations. He will spearhead AOL's numerous products across Europe including creative solutions, behavioural targeting, sponsored text listings and display advertising. (Media Week)
And AOL's new board has been assembled by chief executive Tim Armstrong, who joined the internet giant in April and becomes chairman. The board includes Richard Dalzell, Karen Dykstra, William Hambrecht, Patricia Mitchell, Michael Powell, Fredric Reynolds, James Stengel and Jim Wiatt. (Media Week)
I-level Group has hired Natalie Mead as group marketing and new business director. Mead will be responsible for marketing and new business for both i-level, the digital agency, and Generator Consulting, the online business effectiveness and consumer insight consultancy. (Brand Republic)
Full service digital agency TBG London has appointed Caroline Taylor as group marketing director, the first of three new hires planned by managing director Simon Mansell. In August, Mansell revealed he was looking for a marketing director, managing director and deputy managing director to help him run the business. (Media Week)
Ex-Heinz marketer Clodagh Ward has been appointed head of European marketing at global food company McCormick, which owns Schwartz spices. Ward has worked as a consultant since February, after leaving directories business Yell, where she was UK development director. (Marketing)
Hovis' marketing director, Jon Goldstone, has taken on extra responsibilities at fellow Premier Foods brand Quorn, shifting its advertising account to MCBD in the process. Goldstone has been briefed to make the meat-free range more accessible to non-vegetarians, and is overseeing a project with The Boston Consultancy Group to expand its customer base. (Marketing)
The Periodical Publishers' Association's chief operating officer, Sarah Tunstall, is leaving the organisation at the end of the year to join the web agency Fresh Egg as its commercial director. (Campaign)
The BBC has appointed Palm Europe's senior marketing director Simon Lloyd as its new director of marketing, communications and audiences for its Future Media & Technology division, responsible for exploring news ways of delivering BBC services. (Media Week)
IPC Media has appointed Andrew Goldsmith, trading director of its men's lifestyle and music division, to the role of group advertising director for the division. He will oversee advertising for IPC Ignite and replaces Sam Finlay, who became head of IPC Media Digital Sales in August. (Media Week)
Michelle Surrell, regional radio managing director for the North West, is leaving Bauer Media after 22 years to pursue opportunities outside the industry. Bauer Media confirmed Surrell will be replaced and in the interim, her duties will be shared among other senior Bauer radio executives. (Media Week)
