Boston Scientific on Glasgow

Bonnie Campbell, manager, trade shows and events, Neuromodulation, Boston Scientific on Glasgow's events appeal

What makes Glasgow a good conference and incentive destination?
It's a big city with a small town feel. Glasgow is very easy to navigate and has so much to offer - great restaurants, unique hotels, beautiful parks and great nightlife.

Which venues would you suggest for events and why?

I held a great event at St Jude last year for our internal staff briefing for around 30 delegates.
This included the meeting itself, with hors d'oeuvres, and then delegates moved onto an interactive cocktail workshop followed by dinner. It was a huge success.
I also held a customer event in August for approximately 100 guests at the arts and design centre, the Lighthouse, which was unique and very well received. Guests were met by a bagpiper, then went up several escalators to the cocktail reception area.
This was followed by dinner in an exceptional private room. We also made tours of the building available to our guests throughout the evening.

What are your top tips for booking events in Glasgow?
I believe it's imperative that you conduct your business with a reputable DMC. I can highly recommend Fruit Salad Events. They took the worry out of everything for me - from suggestions for event venues and out of the ordinary boutique hotels, to entertainment options. I absolutely would not have been able to do this without them - particularly since I'm located in the States.
