Election coverage threatened as Thompson holds crisis talks with BBC unions
LONDON - Union officials are to meet BBC director-general Mark Thompson today to discuss the 4,000 job cuts planned at the corporation in a last-chance meeting to avoid a ballot and strike action, which could cause major disruption to the TV schedule.
