Sarkozy pledges support to French newspapers
PARIS - French president Nicolas Sarkozy has pledged to bail out France's blighted newspaper industry with a €600m (£567m) cash injection, free subscriptions for 18-year-olds and a promise to double the state's advertising budget in the national titles.
