Lauren Crampsie
, formerly chief marketing officer for Ogilvy North America, has been promoted to the worldwide CMO role, following the departure of Eleanor Mascheroni. The promotion is effective immediately and will also incorporate responsibility for Ogilvy's business development function in North America. (Campaign)


Sainsbury's has suffered another blow to its marketing operations after Morrisons poached head of non-food marketing Rebecca Singleton to be its new marketing director. Morrisons' marketing director James Condon is leaving the Yorkshire-based brand, for "family reasons". (Marketing)

Starbucks has appointed internal marketing executive Ian Cranna as its new UK top marketer, replacing Brian Waring who has been promoted to an international role. (Marketing)

Virgin Atlantic sales and marketing director Paul Dickinson is leaving the company after 10 years. Dickinson is responsible for the airlines global sales, marketing, e-commerce, contact centres and customer relations. He is to join Christies auction house. (Marketing)


Simon Pardon
, global chief trading officer at Aegis Media and the former managing director of ITV sales house Granada Enterprises, has left Aegis to "pursue other interests". Pardon joined Aegis Media in a consultancy role early last year, before taking the title of chief trading officer (Campaign) 

Yahoo has confirmed the appointment of PayPal president Scott Thompson as its new chief executive, replacing Carol Bartz who was sacked in September last year. (Media Week) 

IPC Media, owner of NME and Marie Claire, has appointed Jon Tickner, formerly head of media solutions at Telegraph Media Group, in the new role of creative development director. (Media Week) 

Apple has appointed Adobe executive Todd Teresi to run its mobile advertising offering iAd ahead of a major media announcement, according to reports. (Media Week)
