Publicis London has poached the Ogilvy & Mather creative director Andy Bird to take the role of executive creative director in a move that has prompted the departure of Adam Kean, who previously held the role. (Campaign)

Fallon has promoted its creative partner Santiago Lucero to executive creative director, with the remit of redefining the agency's approach to creative delivery. Until now, the creative department has been run by a creative collective with Lucero as its most senior member. (Campaign)

CMW has appointed Matt North as its head of digital strategy and planning. North joins the agency from the digital shop VML London, where he was the planning director. At CMW, North will work on a number of the agency’s FMCG clients such as Kellogg, Allied Bakeries and Cadbury. (Campaign)

Chris Warren, one of the founders and former chief executive of TMW, is to join direct agency Indicia as its first non-executive director. Warren will work exclusively with the Bristol-based agency to help it continue its double-digit growth. (Campaign)

Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam has promoted Clay Mills, head of business development and group account director on its global Heineken business, to the role of managing director. He replaces Lee Newman, who leaves the agency this week to join Ogilvy & Mather Chicago as president. (Campaign)

Razorfish has hired David Newton as a managing partner, where he will join current managing partners, Rob Watt and Rob Fenton. Newton will join Razorfish in April from VCCP, where he is managing director of digital, and will report to Chris Mellish, chief executive officer of Razorfish in the UK. (Campaign)


JCDecaux, the outdoor advertising company, has appointed Helena Kavanagh, franchise director for London rail and retail at CBS Outdoor, as managing director of its street furniture division. Kavanagh’s appointment follows the departure of Pierre Jeanjean, who stepped down in January after 23 years at the company. (Media Week)

Global Radio, the owner of the Capital and Heart stations, has appointed Martin Plant as its commercial trading director. Plant, the former executive sales director of the now-defunct TV sales house ids, replaces Ed Chalmers, who was appointed as Channel 4’s trading director in January. (Campaign)

PHD Worldwide has appointed Malcolm Devoy to the newly created role of international strategy director. He will work with PHD’s worldwide strategy and planning director, Mark Holden, on developing a global strategy and planning capability for the agency. (Campaign)

News International has appointed the Bartle Bogle Hegarty partner Nick Stringer as its director of marketing communications. Stringer replaces Barnaby Dawe, who left the company earlier this year to take on the role of chief marketing officer at HarperCollins. He will report to the chief marketing officer, Katie Vanneck-Smith. (Campaign)

Johnny Vaughan, the former Capital Radio breakfast host, is to join Absolute Radio to present a two-hour evening show during the 2012 London Olympic Games. Vaughan will present an early evening show every day between 5pm and 6pm, from 27 July until 12 August. (Media Week)

Initiative has promoted its futures sports and entertainment director Kevin Alavy to the newly created role of managing director of the division. As managing director of Initiative, Futures Sport + Entertainment (FS+E), Alavy will continue to report to Sue Moseley, worldwide director of research and futures. (Media Week)


Virgin Group has hired James Tipple, former vice-president of marketing for Yahoo! EMEA, to the new role of brand director for Europe. Tipple, who joined Virgin Group last month, left Yahoo! at the start of the year following a major restructure, which led to the decentralisation of the internet company’s global marketing function. Nintendo UK’s head of home console marketing Rob Lowe is leaving the company after eight years to take up the marketing director role at BBC Worldwide. The news comes after Nintendo assistant general manager and marketing director Dawn Paine left the company on 24 February to join Universal Pictures UK. (Marketing)
