LONDON (Brand Republic) - BT has appointed City public relations firm Brunswick PR to advise chief executive Sir Peter Bonfield. The appointment comes in the run-up to the planned partial flotation of various parts of BT’s business, including BT Wireless.

BT’s main City PR agency is still the Maitland Consultancy. Brunswick will give “background project advice”, according to a report in The Independent.

Recent high-profile account wins for Brunswick include Marks & Spencer, which called in Brunswick to help handle the succession of chairman Sir Richard Greenbury, and the London Stock Exchange when it faced a hostile bid from Sweden’s OM Gruppen.

As well as the Maitland Consultancy and its own in-house PR team, BT has Citigate Dewe Rogerson working on the flotation of BT’s directories business, Yell.
