LONDON (Brand Republic) – Beenz.com, the internet currency trader, has become the latest online business to announce a restructuring, including job cuts and the closure of overseas offices, as a result of a downturn in online spending by its customers.

The company, which is also said to be seeking a strategic partner, is conducting a country-by-country review of its 10 global operations. This could lead to some closures in the new year.

The company has already laid off staff in the US and it is to offer voluntary redundancy in the UK in order to lose 18 staff.

Beenz.com expects to become profitable in 18 months following a period of funding in June which raised £34m.
