Newsreader signs £250,000 BBC deal

Christopher Price, a newsreader on BBC’s digital channel BBC Choice, has signed a £250,000 deal to remain at the corporation for the next two years.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - Christopher Price, a newsreader on BBC’s digital channel BBC Choice, has signed a £250,000 deal to remain at the corporation for the next two years.

The size of the deal is controversial because Price is relatively unknown, but the BBC believes his reputation will quickly grow after the channel is relaunched as an entertainment-based channel and renamed BBC3.

Price, who previously worked on the BBC’s news channel BBC News 24, presents a daily half-hour entertainment news programme which is set to become a key element of BBC3’s schedule. The deal was made amid fears that Price could be poached by another company.
