I've just watched television since 8.30am this morning and I would be HARD pressed to name five that I should have set the video for.
Putting an advert online obviously makes it BETTER than others, but we can NOT rely on "punters" being impressed by anything in a digital format for ever.
On an scale of 'disgusted' to 'stricken with awe', most consumers would currently be rated as 'undiscriminatingly accepting of anything' (good news for us). This WON'T last for ever but we're all safe for the time being.
But is YOUR career safe for the future?
Test: if you stood up and told everyone LOUDLY that you're going to the toilet but ACTUALLY went home and didn't come back for days or possibly months, would there be 'hell to pay'?
In conclusion, we ALL suffer from being forced advertising tripe on television and it's probably YOUR fault for churning it out like emptying rubbish out of a bin. Biro-ing this statement on your hand will DEFINITELY improve standards immediately: Better ads = less tripe = better delivery of the ROI bacon.
Regardless of your answer, if you had anything to do with the recent adverts for Coke Zero, they were rotten to the core. The stats probably prove this.
