I'm not all of a "Twitter!"

I know I'm a cranky old sod, but is it just me... Or does anyone else out there think that the last thing we need right now is "Twitter?" I mean c'mon... Do we need another way to connect with people we don't really want to connect to? What with RSS feeds, blogs, podcasts, news alerts, the wire and plain old email newsletters, how many hours in a day are there? If you have to bite the bullet, the best info I found was this video:

http://www.commoncraft.com/Twitter. But me... I'll give it a pass for now. I just traded in my eight year old cell phone for one that takes pictures and texting and ring tones and music and on an on and on. But all I want to do is make phone calls from anywhere in the world... What's wrong with that?

Well then why didn't you just go for a basic cell like a Nokia 3310? I personally have a N95 8GB - i couldn't live without it now! Each to their own

I've just got back from Search Engine Strategies in New York. Everyone was twittering over there and apparantly it's very addictive. Partly why I've not taken the plunge. It is a great way to drive traffic and awareness. Are you on Facebook George?

I personally have a quill, some ink and a pigeon called Terence. Threw away my so called 'phone'.

Twitter = whitter = wall of noise. Pointless distraction, geek-tastic, this year's cabbage patch doll (now that dates me...)

Mel... Yes, I'm on Facebook and it drives me fucking crazy. Why do all these people I don't know want to be my friend? I'm a cranky old sod! Dan G... That's funny, I have a whippet called Terence. Do you think they related?
