LONDON - Bleach, the integrated communications agency, has designed and developed a new corporate identity for the UK arm of spirits giant Pernod Ricard UK, which owns the Chivas Regal and Martell brands.

The agency was commissioned to develop the new identity for Pernod Ricard UK, which the company will use to assist in developing its profile with the media and trade.

As part of the project, Bleach developed a new marque, which was evolved from -- and will work in conjunction with -- Pernod Ricard's existing global "sunburst" logo. The combination of the logo and marque is designed to reinforce Pernod Ricard's "global reach, local roots" approach to business.

David Puzey, creative director at Bleach, said: "The design is incredibly versatile and striking, meaning it is easy to integrate across different media. It can also be used as a holding device for specific brands strengthening the relationship between Pernod Ricard and its brands."

Pernod Ricard is in talks about taking over rival drinks group Allied Domecq, although weekend reports say that it may face a rival bid by the wine group Constellation.

The French firm also owns the Jacob's Creek wine, Jameson whiskey, Havana Club rum, Wyborowa vodka and Glenlivet whisky brands.
