Pearlfisher creates bottle for launch of Tezon tequila

LONDON – Pearlfisher has unveiled the brand identity and packaging design for a recently launched tequila product from Pernod Ricard called Tezon.

The identity and design is based on the traditional production of tequila using a black, volcanic stone wheel, called a tahona, which is used crush the agave plants that make the Mexican drink.

The bottle aims to recreate this heritage of tequila with a cork fitting similar to a tahona. It also has two metal strips on either side of the bottle with symbols of the tahona as well as other elements used in traditional production such as plants, fire and water.

The bottle, which has a hand-blown look, comes with a leather booklet around the neck detailing the history of the tequila-making process, to emphasise the traditional branding for the product, which launched in the US at the end of summer 2005.
