ScreenSelect.co.uk hooks up with Ann Summers for promotional push

LONDON - Online DVD rental service ScreenSelect.co.uk has announced a raft of promotional partnerships, including a link-up with Ann Summers.

The Ann Summers partnership comes as the DVD rental firm unveils a total of four deals, in which it links up with 10-pin bowling firm AMF Bowling, video and DVD kiosk supplier Movie Nights, and regional newspaper firm Northcliffe Newspapers.

The deal with Ann Summers includes promotion of the service at its retail stores, as well as through party representatives, and includes a £5 voucher to spend at Ann Summers for customers who take up a free trial offer with the rental firm.

The AMF Bowling link up-includes promotion at its 33 10-pin bowling centres, while the Movie Nights deal involves direct mail and point-of-sale promotion.

The partnership with Northcliffe involves promotional activity in the 185,000-circulation Essex Chronicle and Brentwood Gazette series of papers.

ScreenSelect.co.uk launched in 2003 and with 250,000 members claims to be Europe's largest online DVD rental company. It competes against the likes of Blockbuster and Amazon.co.uk, which also offer online rental services.
