IPC appoints Lomax to digital role at women's titles
LONDON - IPC Media has promoted Paul Lomax, previously internet technology manager, to the newly created role of digital publisher across its women's weekly portfolio, IPC Connect.
Lomax will oversee "general strategy" across Pick Me Up, Chat, Now, Women's Own and the newly launched Look, among others. Lomax's first responsibility will be to oversee the roll out of Look's website, which is still at soft launch stage.

Lomax, who will report to Evelyn Webster, IPC Connect managing director, joined the group in 2001 as senior solutions developer on the relaunch of ybw.com, the yachting and boating portal.
He was then involved in the development of NME.com, before being promoted to internet technology manager in 2002, with responsibility for IPC's Country and Leisure Media internet portfolio.
In his previous role as internet technology manager, Lomax oversaw the launch of more than 30 websites.
He said: "IPC Connect reaches over 6.5m women -- women who really are actively and increasingly embracing the digital world. At the same time, the digital revolution has changed the way people use the internet, and the opportunity to bring these two worlds together is a very exciting challenge."
Webster said: "I'm delighted to welcome Paul to the Connect publishing team. There is already a raft of excellent work taking place in the digital space across Connect, and Paul's impressive track record in website development will be a great asset as we progress our digital strategy still further."
