LONDON – Experian's email marketing and website tool CheetahMail has been launched in Ireland for the first phase of its wider European rollout, making it the third new service from the group in the last few months.

Ireland will be offered the service for the first time with the aim of increasing sales from permission-based email marketing campaigns through features including: targeting and segmentation; creative services; website analytics; and real-time reporting and transaction tracking.

In the last couple of months, Experian has launched Intact, which offers companies online data cleansing and Mosaic, a consumer classification system.

The Computer Industry Almanac 2004 report that revealed 48% of Irish homes now have a PC or a laptop with 2.06m internet users, 53% of the total population, in Ireland.

Experian said it hopes that companies in Ireland will begin to realise the potential of the internet to reach such a vast audience.

Lorcan Lynch, director of Experian's Irish Marketing Services division, said: "The launch of CheetahMail demonstrates Experian's continued investment in Ireland with the further enhancement of its portfolio of direct marketing products and services.

"Spanning the online and offline environment, clients in Ireland will now be able to deliver fully integrated direct mail and email marketing campaigns benefiting from Experian's global technology and local insight."
