Dennis Publishing unveils UK Gambling Awards with consumer voting

LONDON - Dennis Publishing's gambling division is to host the UK Gambling Awards, which will be broadcast by Powerzone on Poker Night Live.

The event will take place on January 24 in London's Banqueting House and will be voted for by readers of Dennis' gambling titles.

The awards follow a successful year in the gambling industry with the recent launches of Total Gambler and PokerPlayer and this year's InsideEdge Awards.

Sam Oraks, creative director at Pokerzone, said: "Pokerzone has always aimed to focus on the UK gaming scene at a roots level and we are pleased to be covering the UK Gambling Awards.

"As well as being the first of its kind, this event promises to be truly representative of what we Brits love about gaming."

Voting is now under way at www.totalgambler.com/awards for 10 categories including: Poker Player of the Year; Poker TV Programme of the Year; Poker Site of the Year; Online Casino of the Year; Gaming Software of the Year; Betting Exchange Firm of the Year; Sports Gambling Personality of the Year; and The Dennis Gambling Best of 2005 Award.

An initial open vote will be made to decide who makes the shortlist, which will be announced in December. The awards will be promoted with editorial and advertising across the Dennis Publishing Gambling portfolio, which reaches more than 655,000 consumers.
