IPC Ignite! appoints Thornton as digital editor-in-chief
LONDON - IPC has appointed a digital editor-in-chief in its Ignite! division, with NME reviews editor Antony Thornton stepping up into the new role.
The role involves structuring and managing the online editorial teams on Nuts, Uncut, Loaded and NME, as well as working with Ignite!'s publishing, advertising and marketing teams to develop the sites.

Thornton will report to Kevin Heery, Ignite!'s head of digital development.
Thornton has been NME reviews editor and new media consultant since 2003, following a five-year spell editing NME.com. During his editorship, he won a British Society of Magazine Editors award for online editor of the year. This year, he published his first book, 'The Libertines: Bound Together'.
Heery said: "Ignite! has some of the most iconic brands in international media, and Antony is the perfect person to oversee the continued editorial development of their digital platforms."
