I'm doing some research for A2 Media coursework & need some help.
I'm looking at how the French New Wave films have influenced contemporary cinema. Anyone who knows much about the FNW already can probably help me out a little already. The basic conventions of these films were revolutionary and had not been used commrecially before. These are: jump cuts, long takes amid snappy shots, perhaps a jumbled story or takes that are difficult to follow, natural settings and lighting... and perhaps more besides.
Do you think these conventions match those of the more modern films?
Or do you think that the films are very much old fashioned, having little influence on contemporary cinema?
Leave a reply, it'd really help me out!
Thanks! x
