UM, Mindshare and ZenithOptimedia among PPA Awards shortlist

UM London has nine shortlisted entries in the PPA Advertising Awards 2013, while Mindshare, Initiative and ZenithOptimedia are among the other agencies shortlisted.

A judging panel made up of industry experts has decided the shortlist for the PPA Awards, held in association with Brand Republic, to celebrate the best of planning and execution of advertising for magazine brands.

This year’s shortlist features UM’s People Powered Print campaign for Microsoft nominated in five categories. The agency’s Great American Cocktail ad for Woodford Reserve also received nominations in four categories.

Mindshare’s ad for Volvo and Initiative’s collaboration with Tesco nominated for three awards each. ZenithOptimedia has two nominations for O2 and one for Silver Spoon.

The shortlist also features two separate campaigns for Panasonic: Lumix XS1 'Glamour's Best Dressed Camera 2013' and Smart Viera/ Get Personal, both by Vizeum.

The winners will be announced at the PPA Advertising Awards evening on October 10 and will be featured on Campaign on October 11.

James Papworth, the marketing director of the PPA said: "The strength of the entries on the shortlist shows how well the Advertising Awards have been received in their second year.

"The range of advertisers and agencies involved also shows how broad the appeal of magazine brands is, as well as the range of opportunity they present across all platforms, including digital."

Greg Witham, trading and key account director, Hearst Media.

Agency of the Year nominations came from a PPA member survey.
