Account Manager [Car Account] – Superb Agency – Off Oxford Street – c£30k

This agency have been working with this much loved car account for approximately 6 years. They enjoy a collaborative working relationship with them and act as an extension of their marketing team.

This is a key role on the account and requires a proactive, enthusiastic Account Manager with excellent planning and organisational skills.

About the Account

The Car Account Team at the agency manages the BTL marketing activities and communications for the client’s consumer audience.

This is a retained account and the agency work very closely with the client, holding responsibility for the development and implementation of the CRM strategy in the UK.

The Account Manager needs to ensure they are managing their client’s expectations, keeping them up to speed on the projects and quickly and effectively resolving queries. Internally the Account Manager must liaise between other departments to ensure all resource requirements are met and that projects are progressing through the agency as planned to meet deadlines.

The Account Manager will need to be confident, driven and organised, bringing great attention to detail and able to make assured recommendations to the client to support them in delivering their business goals.

Over the last two years, there has been a significant shift in communication towards digital but the account still remains a fantastic balance of on and offline depending on audience and message.

Team structure

In the current structure the Account Manager will be work alongside two other Account Managers all reporting to the Group Account Director. Responsibilities are divided across the team members so each Account Manager has ownership of their area of work.

The full agency team working on the account also includes a Senior Planner, Data Planner and Creative Director with whom the Account Manager will have day-to-day contact.

The agency also holds the Fleet business which is managed by a Senior Account Director and an Account Manager. The Account Manager will be expected to build strong working relationships with the Fleet team as well as and other internal teams to keep abreast of what is happening on the account and understand the overall business context.

Key Requirements of the role

The two main elements of the role are client relationship building and service delivery.

·          As an Account Manager you need to ensure you really understand your clients’ needs and deliver an excellent service. You are the crucial day to day contact with the client and you need to create a ‘partnership’ relationship with your immediate contacts.

·         The day to day work requirement will be to manage jobs through the agency, including briefing creative teams, overseeing and checking work, taking and briefing client amends. This will also include associated account admin such as timing plans, contact reports, as well as financial management of the account. Great organizational skills, attention to detail and a real commitment to quality will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Skills/ experience:


·         At least 12 months experience in an agency account management role

·         A marketing qualification (desired)

Ability to demonstrate empathy, strong listening and organizational skills, tenacity and determination with wit and intelligence. Able to work under enormous pressure with the ability to analyse and resolve problems quickly and effectively. Able to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, discretion and maturity in relation to interacting with people at all levels and not be overtly status conscious.
