SAS Senior Analyst: Role Overview

One of the UK's leading Direct Marketing Agencies is looking to recruit a Senior Analyst to work with one of their high-profile clients to deliver data analysis as required. The successful candidate will have to opportunity to work with a large range of data from various sources relating to consumer behaviour in order to gernerate commercial insights that will help the client to understand their customers. As well as using SAS / SQL / SPSS for data analysis methods such as segmentation, customer profiling, CHAID, propensity modelling etc, you will also have to manage the delivery of such analysis, ensuring it meets the clients requirement. You will use SAS / SQL / SPSS to analyse data from mulitple sources relating to customer behaviour, and will relay your findings back to the client and make actionable recommendations that will aid future propositions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with high profile clients. By understanding their business requirements, customer profile and potential customer targets, you will use SAS / SQL / SPSS- based analysis to ensure that relevant and useful insights are delivered that will really influence business decisions. This role will give you the opportunity to work on the project from conception to delivery; understanding client requirements, analysing data using SAS / SQL/ SPSS as required to understand data and gain insight, and finally delivering strategy to the client. As a senior analyst, you will also have the opportunity to mentor junior analysts.

The Person

A suitable applicant will have the following experience:
  • A degree, or equivalent (2:1 or above) in a numerate subject such as mathematics or statistics
  • Experience using SAS / SQL / SPSS to analyse large and varied datasets, using advanced analysis techniques in SAS including customer profiling / segmentation and propensity modelling within a customer insight /marketing / loyalty environment.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary as this is a client-facing role and findings must be communicated to both internal and external parties, as well as to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working in a retail, direct marketing, agency, consultancy, e-commerce, online, telecomms, utilities, FMCG or similar environment will be beneficial
