As Sir John Hegarty points out, advertising should be a meritocracy where the people with the best ideas succeed. You couldn't be more spot on Sir John old chap - this large International creative agency is brimming with ideas and boy do they lead the way in digital.

Often referred to as one of London's finest, they have one of (or if not the best) talent management programme to improve staff satisfaction and retention. With this they no doubt ensure that outstanding planning talent is nurtured and future stars from their graduate program are developed to become the next generation of Planners.

That said, the agency is looking to add a fresh face to the planning team by hiring a new Senior Digital Planner who best describes themselves as big, bold, brassy and charismatic.

Admitting that it may have taken a decade and the odd economic meltdown, but this agency believes they're in a place where the boardroom welcomes its Planners, so with that to shout out about, they're starting to have conversations with Senior Digital Planners who are looking to be a part of the bigger agency picture.

The person best placed for the role must come with agency side experience. I expect this Senior Digital Planner to have quite a unique skill-set, that masters brand planning/positioning, social media strategy and comms/campaign planning.

This is a client facing commercial type role that requires a certain level of gravitas when dealing with the other agencies on the clients' roster.

This role requires a senior digital expert who perhaps was brought up integrated and delivers a multi-channel engagement proposition that compliments their background as a digital specialist.

The opportunity provides the Planner with ownership, autonomy and the freedom to think big and really have a lot of fun with the client. In return you must be one who will not entertain proposals that compromise the agency's track record of delivering excellence.

Believing that the days are gone, when you had to wait until you've see the papers from the IPA Effectiveness or APG Awards that made you really appreciate the wonder fully clever layers of thinking that lie beneath a great piece of work - in this agency effectiveness is demonstrated by the consistently great work coming out.

You may have already cottoned on by now, that this Senior Digital Planner role is pretty hard hitting, therefore you'll probably need to be one who has an 'up in lights' type personality and be one who enjoys working in partnership with the client - who are a UK top 5 brand leading the way in innovation.

To sum you up, your achievements are many, but chief among them will be the greater emphasis you place on effectiveness and accountability.
